It's 11th February again, and as the Qualcast mower of Time cuts
through the electric flex of Destiny... it's time to wish a happy
birthday to Jackie the Librarian.

Happy Birthday Jackie! I'll extend my tab at the Lundy -- come over and
have a jar or two before you come into the shop for a look through some of
these sales catalogues behind the counter.

If we go on celebrating in this crazy, dazy way the Buxom Barmaid is going
to have so much profit that she can take March off!

Happy Birthday from across the river!

Elizabeth

PS That's two birthdays on two consecutive days in Woodbridge-of
people I know, that is. And apparently Paul shares a B-day with my Dad.

Sounds like a lovely idea! I love browsing
catalogs--I look and look and rarely spend money,
which is a good thing right now as my employer is
going through yet another budget crunch due to the
"failing housing market". I hate hearing that budget
cuts are coming but no one knows if the Board of
Supervisors will accept the current recommendation or
come up with a way to say people's jobs without
raising taxes 200 percent.

A belated happy to your dad then. It's fun to watch
the way birthdays combine. At one point among the
30ish people in my building, there were matches for 3
of the 5 members of my birth family. They only ones
left out were my mother and myself. Of course the
funniest was when I was growing up. Picture a mill
village with duplex houses, last house on the street
was ours--we lived in the nothern half, next house to
the south was another duplex--the two women of the
household had the same birthday as my mother. If it
had been the era of giving flowers, the florist could
have offered a special for deliveries to South
Chestnut Street every April 2nd.

But I love returns, it's the "out of library
experience" that I hate--those books that aren't on
the shelf and aren't checked out--they're just not
here. The amusing thing is that it frequently happens
to the books in the 133 area--for those who don't
think in Dewey Decimal, that's the paranormal area.

The weirdest one was a woman I worked with. We have the same birth
date-day, month and year, and the same first and middle name. Not
related, nor did we have anything else in common besides working at
the same place-although we were friends.

The customers for that /know/ that they're meant to have them, and if
they check them out, the black helicopters will come for them?

Happy Birthday.

Those doppelgangers are really strange. My spelling
and typing are extra bad today, as I have one of
those 2 Motrin and no improvement headaches. In fact,
I called in sick for work and may end up "calling in
sick to the primary". I ran into a woman in an
Writing class in college, same first and middle names
and our last names were off by a letter and we shared
the same birthday---very, very scary. I'm glad to
report, our social security numbers were quite
different.
