Greetings,
I came across a 1936 copy of Gone with the Wind and
found, neatly preserved within it (you can see them
at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3351947947&category=197&rd=1 ! ):
Original 4 page movie ad for the film, superb
condition, measuring about 11x9". Apparently
the original owner of the book simply folded it
in 2 and left it there for the past 68+ years.
Newspaper ad for Loew's Poli theatre (with
tickets going for 75 cents!)
Newspaper photo of Olivia DeHavilland
who has "rounded nationwise praise for her portrayal
of Melanie in "Gone With The Wind" which is being
helf over at Loew's Poli theater as a result of
popular requests for more showings"
Ticket stub from such a show (the matinee cost
seventy-five cents back then)
Clipping/photo of Austine McDonnell (she was screen
tested for the role of Melanie)
Large newspaper cutout of Rhett and Scarlett advertising
Chesterfield cigarettes
Dress pattern catalog that featured GWTW dresses
more!
I've put them up at
http://www.barbaraling.com/gwtw.html . Are
these commonly found?
Enjoy,
Barbara Ling
