Hm, what meanings? I though it would be clear from the context that
it would mean "something made from organic (i.e., "biological")
material", but obviously I'm missing something.

The chemical definition of "organic" is "almost any molecule that
includes carbon where at least one carbon atom is covalently bonded to a
non-carbon atom". The distinction between organic and inorganic compounds
is historical and related to the discarded theory of vitalism, and the
precise distinction is not universally agreed upon. Some molecules are
considered organic in some textbooks and not in others. Carbon oxides and
purely carbon-metal compounds are universally considered inorganic, while
methane and peptides are likewise considered organic. A precise distinction
is of little practical value anyway. It is the definition I reflexively use
when asked "organic?" in a 20 questions thread. In this questions thread,
the item I'm asking does not contain organic molecules in significant
quantities.
But another definition is "produced by life forms", and yet another
"pertaining to anatomical organs". Then the term can be defined as "without
any synthetic compounds or methods used in the production process" - crops
grown with synthetic fertilizer or pest contol are not organic - or even as
a synonym for healthy. I suppose organ music could also flippantly be
called organic.
