I'm new this web site and a very avid Ann Rice fan I first read Interview
when I was 12 I'm much older now but still reading. I met her Ms.Rice a
couple of years ago and I got her Hancock on Memnoch. It's something I
cherish. I really feel I,m suppose to be doing something related to Ann
but I have'nt the fainst idea as to what that should be so if someone with
the same feelings has an idea let me know maybe we can figure it out
together. >> Stay informed about: Ann Rice |

Hi Kimmie,
I don't know what it is about AR that affects so many of us so strongly.
After I'd read TWH, IWTV, Lasher, TVL, etc., I just HAD to go to New Orleans
to see the places mentioned in the books. I ended up taking 2 vacations
there. The first one I went alone because different friends who were
supposed to go cancelled out. I ended up there alone for 6 days & had a
blast. I don't drink or do drugs. I stayed in the French Quarter & walked
all over town & rode the streetcar. Went all thru the Quarter & the Garden
District, took a carriage ride, etc.
There is something very old & special about that city! If you've never been
there, I'd suggest that you save up & plan a trip. Go see the houses that
are in the books, the cemetaries, the river, listen to music. see the
little-known wax museum & have a blast. I was in my mid-40s when I went &
I'm basically very shy. But I decided that I wasn't going to let my shyness
have the upper hand this time. I introduced myself & met people from all
over the world. If you stay in the Quarter, in the same place, by the 2nd
or 3rd day the shop & restaurant people know your name & visit with you like
long-lost friends. Of course, it can be very dangerous at nite, so if you
do go, be sensible about where you go, especially at nite.
On my 2nd trip I went with a friend who wasn't into Anne & I didn't have
nearly the good time that I had when I'd gone alone & could go & see
whatever I wanted without compromises.
I'm in AA & I even found an AA club on the edge of the Quarter & met a man
who I wrote to for 2 or 3 yrs. Then on the next trip I stayed at a better
place (townhouse) that his lover owned. It's good to try to make some
connections.
You'll find whatever it is that you're supposed to do. Just be open to new
ideas & new people. Those of us who are into all things AR are a strange
group. We cut across all age, race, sex, sexual identity, financial
barriers. We all just love AR & her work.
Good luck!
Bev in sunny Santa Cruz, CA

Yeah, I really enjoyed Blackwood Farm as well. The book after BF is
Blood Canticle, the final book of the series, but I wouldn't recommend
it.
Take care,

Hey Ashe thankyou for the head's up on BC I read it and well she has done
better maybe she does not talk to him any longer. I heard that she's
writing a spritual novel I'll take a look.I feel she's already in touch
with something the rest of us are not. When it comes to heaven and hell she
not confused. >> Stay informed about: Ann Rice |

Araxen,
I'm really not sure if I would go back to reading Rice even if she
started writing about vampires and witches again. If BC was anything to
go by, she's lost her touch and her love for those characters. BC very
much read like a book she put out just to meet contractual obligations
and be done with the whole series. Lestat was unrecognizable.
Take care,
Ashe

Hello Ann fan's I have'nt read a damn thing in months about anything and I
just keep watching queen of the damed and by now it has grown on me. I
really would like to know what has happen to Ann other than Katrina. I
mean she's had a ruff year. So maybe it will take time to get back to the
characters we know and love. I'm still waiting on the Witching Hour movie.
And this is how I see some things, you know when you go to the book store
and you go to the section you love and you look at all the books you have
read of AR's and you keep hoping your eyes will lite on somehting new and
it does'nt so you leave empty handed until the next time. There will be a
next time people and it won't be this new thing it will be what we like. >> Stay informed about: Ann Rice |
