wow i must have been on the top of the shipping pile. well, only about a
month late, not as bad as it could have been I guess. and they even manged
to not send me the artist edition (their repsonse to my cancelling it from
my order was "we'll try") of course they havent managed to refund my money
yet but we'll see. I also dont see how the artist edition could have fit in
the same box with the signed/limited.
as for the book, I'm glad they went to a new color on the slipcase. if they
finished out the series with the same blue slipcase as books 3 and 4 then
books 1 and 2 would have stuck out horribly. the dustjackets are also really
nice, but i'm a little disappointed in the front board stamp, which is just
a litttle rose in the lower right hand corner. i mean c'mon come up with
something better than that. what happened to stamping the title page
illustration on the front board as theyve done with books 2-4? i also still
like the old cloth of books 1-2 better than whatever the last 2 books have
been made out of, i mean i'm not even sure if its leather or cloth. leather
meant to look like cloth i guess. >> Stay informed about: DTV signed limited finally here |

Why did you end up cancelling the artist edition? You could have sold it on
ebay right away, it was like being handed $100!!<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: DTV signed limited finally here |

It's not stupidity you'd be profiting off of...it's laziness, and for that I
have even less sympathy...but I know what you mean...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: DTV signed limited finally here |

well in some cases it may be laziness, but in alot of cases it
supidity/confusion. grant made a big deal out of proclaiming how hard it was
going to be to get ana rtist edition, then later had to back down, which
they did with far less hype. half of the auctions on ebay still proclaim you
have to had bought a wizard and glass from grant to get the artist edition,
and that hasnt been the case for months. also it seems liek a handful of
people have auctioned multiple copies, so even grants one per purpose rule
seems to have gone out the window.
but really i just wanted to give grant a small amount of grief. it was worth
loosing the 70 or 80 potential profit.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: DTV signed limited finally here |

my only real reason for wanting the artist edition in the first palce was to
read it. since grant took their time getting it to me i ended up resding the
trade edition. i dont see the artist edition turning out to be much of a
collectible, and besides i have the signed limited and a flat signed trade
edition.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: DTV signed limited finally here |

Yeah, it seems like there's been a significant racket going on as
a result of this confusion. I think Grant have been enforcing the
one copy per person limit, but that some people have been getting
extra copies by asking other people to buy a copy on their behalf.
Hardly seems fair, especially as the Artist's edition is now sold out.

I sat next to the people from Donald M. Grant at the awards ceremony last
week -- the orders for trade/artist were probably shipped alphabetically and
the S/L by number.

Did you post once on the Peter Straub NG that you were preparing an interview
with Peter? If so, how'd it go and when may we expect to see it's publication.
Thanks

I haven't checked for myself yet but someone on SKEMERs reported
this morning that they saw an out of print notice on the Grant
web site.

Yes, that's where I saw the information, too.
