Is there a sequel to Betancourt's Dawn of Amber?

It was only just warming up at the end, so I'd like to read on...

August. Amber & Chaos will be out in August.

I was one of the proofreaders and it's longer and even better.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

That's good to hear. I found myself oddly disappointed at the end of Dawn
of Amber. I thought it was too short.

Everyone (especially the publisher) seems to have thought so. But this
was the natural breaking point for the volume.

Oh, I don't disagree with that. Always leave the readers wanting more is a
good thing.

Except I hate 'wanting more,' if you know what I mean. Once I get into a
story, it's frustrating having to wait for more. But, then again, once you
have everything, it's frustrating that you have everything and that there
isn't going to be more.

What I'm wondering at this point is how you're gonna manage to kill off all
of these new characters.

None of Zelazny's Amber novels where very long. What I found missing in DoA was
the entire sense of creation. The vividness of the characters and their
motivations. Why should we care about any of them?

Does anyone else feel the same way? The plot was good, I thought, but I felt
everything could have been fleshed out a little better.

Dawn Of Amber : What Did You Think? - Just finished reading 'Dawn of Amber' by John Gregory Betancourt. Disappointing is probably the politest word I could think of to describe it. Has anyone read 'Amber and Chaos' yet? Is it better than DoA? Gillian

To Rule in Amber (Dawn of Amber #3) - For those who are interested, I've finished my third Amber book, TO RULE IN AMBER. It's scheduled for September 2004 release. If you want the hardcover first edition, I suggest you buy it soon after its release (or preorder it at Amazon.com) -- #2 sold..

Amber - John, Just finished reading the 2 new novels of yours on the Amber series. I enjoyed them and am looking forward to reading the 3rd. Hope you will continue with them in the future. A great writer was cut short, and because of that, so was the Amber..

Which Amber character? - Well, its awfully quiet in here so I'll post a question. Which Amberite would you most like running your country? Which one would you least want in charge? Why? -Scott Badger

Chaos and Amber - Just read it. The Dawn of Amber was good but short, Chaos in Amber was longer and better, so I'm hoping that To Rule in Amber is even better yet. Good job, John! -- ~Ras
