I've just finished Dead Air for the first time. While I enjoyed it, I
felt it wasn't one of Mr Bank's best. I get the feeling that he put
his usual effort into characterization, but wasn't quite sure what to
do with his characters after that.
Having said that, I enjoyed his view of London, and, as the story
developed, was grabbed by the two big scenes towards the end. No
spoliers, but let's say "burglary" and "legs". Would I be alone in
thinking that he felt that he needed to write something to snapshot
the 9/11 attack, and worked from there?
I've gone from DA to William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition" -the
contrast in the descriptions of London between the two books is
interesting.....
