It's 5th December again, and as the Qualcast mower of Time cuts through
the electric flex of Destiny... it's time to wish a happy birthday to
Hudson, Werepup of the Village.

We had to put all of next month's beer money into the Steeple Fund
before they'd let us cross the parish boundary...

Looks like the Steeple may be repaired sooner than expected. If a few more residents donated their money---bad idea, don't want to put the Lundy out of business.

My how time flies, it seems like yesterday we were all going ah, cute puppy! Let's see if I can find Hudson a nice beefy bone to chew on.

I'm not entirely surprised, Sergeant-Major; it was entirely because of a
bunch of your lads somewhat over-enthusiastically exceeding (and, indeed,
comprehensively misunderstanding) their orders on the Village Sports Day
that the steeple needed repairing in the first place. If the only way one
can chase something is to saw it off and put it on a steam powered engine,
then it should be fairly obvious that something has gone wrong somewhere and
that clarification should be sought.

Perhaps, in retrospect, the mistake was in seeking clarification from
Isambard Kingdom Earwig while he was concentrating on driving the
engine. Had he not been distracted, things might have gone much better
all round.

Well, indeed. We might still have the Grade 1* listed signpost to
Steukely-cum-Underwold for one thing.

We do.

It's in the starboard #3 tread, and if a certain 'wig doesn't get his
bloody finger out it'll be jamming up the idler wheel.
