I concur with the suggestions of Connelly, Pelecanos and Crais. All great
writers.
You might also like Peter Robinson (try Aftermath) Ian Rankin (the best bar none
in
my opinion), James Crumley, Richard Price (Lehane's favorite author), Laura
Lippman,
Karin Slaughter, Eugene Izzi.....

These are all kind of similar.
