People from a small town, in the deep South, know they probably will
never be able to get away from there. So, instead of trying to get out
of that small town, they welcome anything that makes them think they're
living in a big city.
Some people will do whatever they have to, to feel like they are a part
of a culture other than their own. >> Stay informed about: Why Dockery? |

I haven't read any of your 'work'... only your whines about "Will
Dockery"... why not post one here?
That's the difference between "Will Dockery" and you seemingly endless
number of complainers: I produce works of art... and you don't seem to.
Here's part of my new one, a work in progress that will eventually be a 3-4
verse performance piece with music:
Decima
Decima, aim your rod to screen
Film into the eyeless abyss
To a level in lighted mist
Tenth norn of afterimage dream
Nests of ghosts in a webbed beam
Born illuminated and queer
Shake fate infinity mirror
Glowing light child of Kaos string
Nightswim bouncing and measuring
A weird sister without anger.
-Will Dockery
The ball's in your court, Biljo... will you post a poem and "show me up"?
Simple as that... or just whine on and I'll get free publicity for /my
work/.
> just curious
Me too.

Give it a shot; if Will can do it, surely you can.

OK, Uncle Blue, you do it. OB can complain with impunity,
he/she has proven her/his ability to write decimas. You
still haven't, but if Twitch can sort of do it, maybe you can do
better.

Gee, I thought it was one of the most piddly of venial sins.
If Will is indeed an idiot, then encouraging him can only
produce what he refers to as "art", and certainly you, as a
member of the cognescenti cabal, have the option to ignore
it and him.
>

Is any sin immortal? Will my transgression span the
millenia and be remembered till kingdom come? I
think I'd like to imperil that sin; I don't think I want
any no-no of mine to be in the archives forever.
Oh forgive my impertinence and kill this sin,
supposedly immortal.

See, Ms (?) Baloney? Next, you'll see the twisted snippings and
deletions. Besides these, it's interesting, even, to share stories
with Will. I understand your sympathies, and I try to keep an open
mind and try understanding how rap is a place of experimentation.
There is no FAQ, however (well, not really).

Good start, but not a decima, which is what I wrote:
"Décima is a style of poetry that is octosyllabic and has 10 lines.
The rhyming scheme is ABBAACCDDC. It is spoken, sung and written
throughout Latin America with variations in different countries. It is
often improvised.
A person who writes or improvises décima is known as a decimista."

Decima
Decima, aim your rod to screen
Film into the eyeless abyss
To a level in lighted mist
Tenth norn of afterimage dream
Nests of ghosts in a webbed beam
Born illuminated and queer
Shake fate infinity mirror
Glowing light child of Kaos string
Nightswim bouncing and measuring
A weird sister without anger.

What a novel idea!
And about as likely to happen as GB trying to write a decima... or a poem of
any kind, actually.
