I googled and found this:

http://www.fullproofpublishing.com/Crisp/index.html

They were founded in "May 2008", but there's no country, address, etc.
I would be wary of any publisher that doesn't list a real street
address.

Thanks James,
I am being wary because I have been offered a contract by them and cannot
find out any more than you have. I have searched the yellow pages for UK and
US as well as Google!

Quilljar,

Have they asked you for any money up front? Remember this rule: The
money is always to supposed to flow TOWARDS you, the writer and NOT
the other way around. Any publisher, editor or agent that asks you for
money up front, or otherwise charges "fees" of any kind is NOT LEGIT.

I did not see an e-mail link on the Fullproof Publishing. Did they
approach you, or did you submit your work to them and they accepted?

You say they offered you a contract. Does the contract spell out all
the costs involved? Are there any "setup" fees?

If there's no name/address/contact information on the contract, I
would suggest that you ask for that information. If the owners/editors
refuse to reveal their identities, then I would say that's a bad sign
and you should refuse the contract. You have the right to know whom
you're dealing with.

I realize that you want to see your work published, but perhaps this
"publisher" is not right for you.

Good luck,
James Rau

Thank-you for your kind advice James. Fullproof have given me their address
now and do NOT want any money. They are not a vanity publisher. I am an
experienced writer of educational books and have had many contracts.
However, I am new to fiction writing. I shall be very careful, and this
enquiry is not my only one!

I sent my MS to them on advice from another author and they rejected my
first book but liked my second offering....so fingers crossed!

Quilljar,

Good. I'm glad to hear that Fullproof does exercise some editorial
discretion and that they would not accept your work unless they
thought it was saleable. They only make money if you make money.

I've been in/out of the printing, publishing and editorial business
for about 20 years (I make my living as a technical writer). I've had
my fiction published, but with limited success. I'm planning to "test
market" my next book using Lulu (lulu.com) to see if I can get a
traditional publishing house interested. I'm still researching POD
(print/publish on demand) or on-line publishing (so Fullproof may yet
be another option).

Please continue to post. I would like to see any feedback on
Fullproof.

I wish you luck,
James Rau
