She lives in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

than 200 books after that)

Personally, the only Bear books of theirs I could tolerate were the
ones written before 1975 or so. Maybe the
best ones were "The Bears' Picnic" and "The Bears' Vacation." Though I
suppose some would complain about the father's being made to look like
a fool so often - especially in the book about the Bear Scouts.

From elsewhere:

"Little known is that the Berenstains also wrote books for adults.
They contributed to Playboy magazine in the 1950s, and a list of other
books the Berenstains wrote includes such titles as 'Beat Him When He
Sneezes,' 'Office Lover Boy,' 'How To Teach Your Children About God
Without Actually Scaring Them Out Of Their Wits' and 'Be Good or I'll
Belt Ya!' "

See here for the "adult" books - no, they're not necessarily obscene:

Stan Berenstain died in 2005.

Lenona.
