Thanks Pauline. Mine was a wee different. My brother and couple of his
friends and I went to the Sheridan <sp> (the hotel chain) for a buffet
dinner. When I went to get my food, it was 100% inaccessible by a
wheelchair. In the US, and before Federal in Florida, that's illegal
and could result in criminal charges and a HUGE lawsuit (I was one of 3
wheelchairs, plus 2 walkers there). I asked them to move the display so
I could access, but they refused. While I was speaking to my brother
about options, I said, "This is illegal. I could have a huge lawsuit."
Without thinking I was speaking too loud. Opps, five two minutes later
the area had 6 people moving all sorts of things to give me free access.
Of course followed by, "Glad we could help" "enjoy your dinner", it
was all I could due to stop from breaking out in hysterics.

BTW, I'm thinking about making some tee shirts that say: "Ask me
about the ADA"

"ADA" is an acronym that sends shivers of fear down the business man's
spine more than a bank credit agent does. I mean if every disabled
person sued for every ADA violation we found, we'd all be richer than
Oprah! A Little respect is all we ask. :-/
