They're off! Well, sort of Smile The international ones went out Wednesday
morning, and the others were finished tonight and SHOULD make it to the
post office tomorrow.

On to the next project cluttering up my house...

And arrived! At least, in my part of Australia - and well before
Chinese New Year, too!

My goodness those kids are growing up. Occupational hazard, I guess
because mine are doing the same thing. I am SO not ready to be the
mother of a teenager - which I have been for 11 days. And in 15
months time I'll be the mother of TWO teenagers which is just so wrong
given that I'm only 21 (and have been for a couple of decades now).

Mother of two teenagers... oh, my. Should we send you body armor? Helmet,
greaves?

Ear plugs?

I've been the mother of two teenagers for 3 months, now. I tell you,
it is not much worse than being the mother of a teen and a pre-teen,
it just means it might all be over sooner.

OMG, I am soooo tempted to give that remark two "famous last word
points" (one for each teenager). Do I hear a second for the motion?

I meant, I was ready to kill them both before they got to the
teenager stage.

On the other hand... You're probably right. I haven't seen the
worst of it yet.

I was ready to kill both of mine this afternoon. Drives me nuts how
they can argue and bicker on the SAME SIDE of an argument! Not even
taking opposing viewpoints but the exact same viewpoint leads to a 20
minute argument.

I will be very glad (though rather stressed at the same time) when
school starts for the new (Oz) school year on Jan 29th. Glad because
I miss my 'alone time' that I only get during the school days.
Stressed because it's a whole new school, a whole new scenario, a
whole new set of kids (PLEASE don't let as many of them be bullies as
at the old school!) and a lot further distance to travel for them to
get there. And of course there's always the 'gifted classes' issues
to deal with ...

Sounds like they're training to be politicians...the phrase that instantly
comes to mind is "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Yours can't possibly be teenager and almost-teenager yet, can they?

Glad you liked it--sorry about the lack of personalization this year.
(If I had tried to write a note on each card, they would probably still
be here on the kitchen counter...)

Afraid so. Athena turned 13 on January 4th, Ishtar will turn 12 on
April 17th. Fifteen months apart is not what we planned on but it's
what we got.

Athena starts High School (year Cool on the 29th of January. Fortunately
we've been able to transfer them to the same school at the same time
since the New School handles preschool to year 12. It's a great
school although we're still trying to work out transport details - at
this stage it looks like a permanent Taxi booking which will be
expensive but better than 3 buses and a 90 minute commute each way for
a 9 km (5 1/2 mile) journey!

The home made cards were very nice; carpal tunnel damage not nice. If
start now I might be able to get home made cards ready for next season.

Would an underground road for high occupancy vehicles be a
carpool tunnel?

Or even self-driving ones.

I can't drive as my eyesight at best correction is too poor to get my
licence (but too good to be classified as 'legally blind' and
therefore able to get things like discounts on taxi fares <sigh>).
Himself can't take them as the timing-thing is wrong for Him
work-wise. The Goddesses can't get their driver's licences until they
are 16 1/2. So unless we can find someone going our way who has room
for 2 well-behaved Goddesses and would be happy to accept some cash
money in return it will be taxis.
