Hi everyone,

Mine went out today (and only today due to a week in bed with fever...
although shared with my husband, so it was much less boring and sad) in
rapid mail. Hope everyone gets his / her soon, but if not, give me a
word in a few days...

Aphrael, still dizzy, hate fever.

Hope you feel better soon!

I'd send soup recipes, but I don't think I have any with no cutting up a
vegetable requirements, and dizzy people should not be wielding knives...

(Can't send actual soup via Usenet!)

Your card arrived today! Some of the ink was slightly 'blurred' on the
envelope due to ice/snow/rain storm today.

When I went out this morning the wooden steps and concrete sidewalk were
slickery as...snot! About 3 mm of ice from freezing rain, plus a light
layer of fresh rain - nice low friction wet ice. The roads were OK on
the way to work but got much worse as the day progressed; schools
closed, traffic snarls, the works (or not works??).

> Aphrael, still dizzy, hate fever.

Got home today and my spouse informed me that the teenage son was sick
with flu. I asked if he needed to go to the doctor (since he *hates*
going to the doctor). About 10 minutes later he came down and asked to
go to the doctor - he needed a note for work that he was scheduled for
tonight. He really is sick though, with classic symptoms of the
whatever-is-going-around 'flu'.

Me, too. :>

I watched the Puppy Bowl, on the Animal Planet. Or, I had the Puppy Bowl
on the TV while I pottered around. St. Bernard puppies are so cute! But
how would I fit a full grown dog of that size in my little house? Hmmm.

For those not in the USA, the Puppy Bowl is counter-programming for the big
Superbowl football game. They take a dozen puppies and put them in a room
decorated to look like a small football field -- green, goal lines painted
on the floor -- with a bunch of toys. Turn on video cameras. Film for two
hours. Turn off cameras. If they sell one commercial, they've made a profit.

The Puppy Bowl has gotten more elaborate with time -- they have a kitten
half-time, now. Kittens in a room with confetti and glittering stuff,
mostly looking confused. And they put cameras below clear-bottomed water
bowls, so you can see little tongues slurping when the puppies drink.

Still probably the cheapest show on the air. Possibly the cutest, too.
