Had hollywood for two years, never read it as it didnt appeal to me, but in
that time re read post office, women, factotem, I love the books, but never
really thought of them as humourous, in fact I fealt sorry for Hank much of
the time, there are a few funny bits in Post office (like the getting lost
in the woods part, and the midget story). In Hollywood Hank seems much more
likable, MUCH more sarcastic and he had a laid back chilled feel about him,
look after his cats, drink some wine, bet the horses and hang out, like a
real idler. I really liked the Hank in Hollywood, its like Bukowski stopped
trying to be Fante (who doesnt even come close IMHO to Buk) and wrote as
Bukowski rather than Chinaski in the style of Fante.

As the composer of the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack to the highly
acclaimed Independent Film, BUKOWSKI: BORN INTO THIS, I would like to encourage
you to visit my new web site which features select audio clips from the score,
the poetry of Charles Bukowski, and an opportunity to purchase the collector's
edition CD which is only available at www.bukowskiCD.com.
This CD contains the complete original score, audio clips of readings by
Bukowski, rare photos and select printed excerpts of poetry.
