Brush, Prof. H. D. A NEW SYSTEM OF HORSE TRAINING OR HORSE EDUCATION as
taught by Prof. H. D. Brush, Fingal, Ont. Toronto, Carswell, nd. ca.
1902. Illustrated with a title page vignette and other engravings by
Grip Co. Engraving (a Toronto firm). An exhortation on the title page
warns of "penalty of perjury" to anyone revealing the secrets in this
book. The cover reads - Prof. H. D. Brush / Horse Educator / and /
Veterinary Dentist. A small (17 x 12 cm) book in black cloth, gilt on
cover. 224 pp. including Index. Publisher's sticker inside front
cover. Moderate wear except for one tear (2.5 cm) and one hole in the
cloth covering (2 x .5 cm) on the spine, slight browning of the pages.
Still, very good. $75.00 U.S.

Elliman, Sons & Co. THE USES OF ELLIMAN'S EMBROCATION for Horses, Dogs,
Birds, Cattle. Third Edition. Slough, England, Elliman, 1902.
Illustrated with several engraved plates, and other drawings. The cover
reads - Horses, Dogs, Birds, Cattle / Accidents and Ailments / First
Aid. Purple ribbed cloth, printed in gilt on cover and spine. 188 pp.
plus (3) pp. of ads. Laid in is a slip from The Society for the
Protection of Animals announcing a Silver Medal for the French edition
of an Elliman book, possibly this one. Minor wear, gilt on spine has
oxidized, faint foxing inside the covers. Very good plus. $20.00 U.S.

Greenside, F. C. ESSAYS ON HORSE SUBJECTS. New York, Privately
Printed, 1907. A collection of 14 articles written and accumulated over
the course of "twenty-eight years' experience as a practical horseman
and veterinarian," which relate to subjects largely neglected by other
writers. Chapters include Quality in Horses, Hitching in Horses, The
Use of Burrs on Horses' Bits, etc. Red cloth, gilt on cover and spine.
130 pp. Moderate wear, slight traces of foxing inside the covers and a
few places here and there throughout. Very good. $50.00 U.S.

Greenwood, Colonel George. HINTS ON HORSEMANSHIP to A Nephew and Niece;
or, Common Sense and Common Errors in Common Riding. New Edition.
London, Edward Noxon, 1861. Illustrated with an engraved frontis, title
page vignette, and other drawings. 130 pp. plus 8 pp. of publisher's
ads dated May, 1861. Green cloth, decorated in blind on both covers and
in gilt on the front cover, gilt on spine, a.e.g., pale yellow
endpapers. Moderate wear; heavy foxing on the frontis and first title
page only, faint foxing on the second title page, frontis is loose.
Very good. $40.00 U.S.
