Just started reading Insomnia, and in the first part Heavyset guy said he
had a OUI. Shouldn't it be DUI? Is this a typo?

OUI = operating under the influence. Pretty much the same thing as DUI, or,
in some places, DWI (driving while intoxicated).

Indeed. You have to know where the book is written, and what terms they
use there.

Have a great day!

Grow up. If you knew it meant a conviction for breaking the law with regard
to alchohol and driving, why ask redundant questions?
King's books are directed at sad misfits with a literary capacity measured
in nanobytes.

Another sad example of those seeking negative attention as being better than
no attention.

Because he wanted to know what O stood for?

More and more so, yes, but not always, and not necessarily.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Tina,
An expressed opinion has got to be positive, especially when applied to the
kind of pulp fiction King churns out.You obviously have been taken in by the
lazy, predictable stories he now (and always has) offered up.
In music it's two verses, middle eight, one verse, finish.
One can tire of the same fare if it's served up ad nausium, n'est pas?
A grown Man.

I think he was laughing with you, not at you.

But how could you understand that? You're a looney.
