Hmm, going from the top, left to right,
Colossus
[the one your talking about], X-23
Wolverine
Beast, White Queen
Cyclops
Hard to tell, but digging back into the article the image came from,
"The Astonishing cast will probably remain the same when Ellis and Bianchi
take over."
Except, of course, the two-claw girl is clearly Laura, who was never in
Astonishing, at least as an on-going character. Since the Astonishing
regular cast (in the second series) had Kitty, White Queen and Armor as the
three females, and Emma is in the picture, then Laura is replacing either
Kitty or Hisako (unless they replace both and the other female is someone
completely different).
Whoever it is, she's wearing a domino mask. I don't recall Hisako ever
wearing a domino, and it's been literally decades since Kitty wore one.

Yeah, Emma and x-23 both also have it. The top lines are eyebrows,
and the lower one almost look like bags under the eyes, so probably
meant to be some type of makeup. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

I don't think there's a mask on who I think is Kitty. It's just the
artwork makes it sort of seem that way. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

It's the lighting. (Or the attempt. The lighting isn't consistent
across the scene.)
For their faces, the lighting is from below, probably to go with
the camera angle. So you get light reflecting off the normally
shaded under-side of the eye and under the eyebrow. At the same
time, the upper eyelid is shadowed, as is the top of the cheekbones.
It creates a mask-like appearance. You can see it in degrees on
X-23's, Emma's, and Colossus' faces. With Kitty(?), it looks like
a mask because her face is head-on (the others are more shadowed)
and because her face is just abnormally shiny. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

You know, I don't think Kitty is going to kick the bucket, at least
not in any meaningful way. My guess is that she was just to be
"written out" for a few months, but judging how slow Astonishing is,
we won't really feel the impact. Any "dramatic return" will be (real
time) only a couple of months after Whedon's Astonishing run ends. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

I think Lockheed is the one who died. Somewhere or other I saw Lockheed
listed as a one-time member of the X-Men. That means of solicitations
say an X-Man won't return, Lockheed could count. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

Maybe the Cassandra Nova projection is still inside one of the X-Men
and won't be returning. After all, Cassandra Nova is a member of the
X-Men, at least in the future in Morrison's Here Comes Tomorrow. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

Based on the illustration, I'd say it's Kitty and not Armor who is to
the left (our left) of X-23. The costume certainly makes it more
difficult to say as it's not the current costume of either Kitty *or*
Armor, but I'm going off the fact that the character in question has a
long pony tail. And given Bianchi's art style, she doesn't seem to me
to be Asian.

We know he DID write a good Kitty...that was years ago when editors
actually edited...it's anyone's guess what he'd do now. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |

Regardless, she was already announced for X-Force.
Just because she is Female Wolverine doesn't mean Marvel needs to
shove her into every book at the same time. Worse when Wolverine is
already shoved into those same books. >> Stay informed about: Kitty not going to buy it? |
