Traditionally, every September Usenet gets a fresh influx of newbies, as
high-schoolers move up to college or uni and are introduced to the web for
the first time. September is the start of the academic calendar. Of
course, the trend isn't so marked these days, what with home computers and
mobile phones being in such common use, even by pre-schoolers, but there's
still a discernable peak in "noobs" blundering around at this time of
year.

Cheers,
Pete.

I blunder, but its November, and well, I pretty much flounder and make
an a$$ of myself year round ... do I still count? Wink

LOL! Nope, You're too net-savvy to count, blunders notwithstanding. As
for the noobs, it usually requires a couple of months and a few whacks
with the old clue-by-four before they either shape up or ship out, so
although it's November they are still with us, our most recent poster
being a case in point.

Cheers,
Pete.
