High,
I'm a big Feist fan but i noticed i may miss a book.
I don't know it's name or if it's translated to Dutch (so i'm sorry if names
arren't correct cause they changed some in the translation), but it's about
Caelin who has gone to Novindus with +- 6000 men. There they should fight
the Green Lady(SerpentQueen) in Maharta. This book should be in the story
line before "The Shadow of a Dark Queen". This because in that book it's
referred to ( The veterans who train Eric and his crew).
Does that book exist and if what's the titel ?? I couldn't find any info.
Thanx,

I have all of Mr. Fiest's books and that mention in _Shadow Of A Dark Queen_
was the only place it appeared in print. There is a chance that the battle
appeared in a short story but I've never seen it or heard about it.

It's a book that never got written, called Return of the Buccaneer,
which was scrapped because I switched US publishers and my new publisher
wanted a new series. So, some of what happened in that story made it's
way into Shadow.

Thanx for all your answers and Mr Feist i hope that "the Return of the
Buccaneer" will be published sometime cause it seems like a book with more
depth about Novindus and how the Dark Queen gets her position as leader of
the Pantatiers and Caelis surch for what he is.

It will probably never happen. As I said, some of that story made it's
way into Shadow, and some of what would have happened was recounted in
the scene between Bobby and Nakor.

I do.
What happened was a corporate change in the game industry when Sierra
Online was bought up by Vevendi/Universal International and most of
their on-going projects were canceled. Because of a contractual tie-in
agreement between myself and Sierra, some caution was required in doing
any more Krondor books.
Moreover, my publisher wanted me to get back to the Riftwar cycle of
titles.
There may be a non-traditional project that will cover that last set of
story issues down the road, but I can say no more on that topic right
now.

Non-traditional to me means "graphic novel", which I must admit would be a
disapointment to me. My issues with graphic novels are that subtleties,
details, and overall feel and ambiance are generally lost. in favor of the
truncated format. I do hope that those stories make their way into novel
format eventually. >> Stay informed about: Missing Book ?? |

It's not a graphic novel. By non-traditional I mean "not a novel," and
only that.
As far as you're disappointment with such, I can appreciate having a
preference for one media form over another. I tend to be a little more
interested in seeing what other people can do, which is why I am pretty
happy with the comic adaptation Marvel's doing of Magician. On the
other hand, I certainly can see why some people don't wish to bother; it
runs counter to what they've created in their own heads.

Marvel and the Dabel Brothers (DBPro) have been doing it about 8 months
now. And the 1st six have been published as a Marvel graphic novel.

Amd it is really pretty good. I didn't like the change from Bret Booth
much but the new Artist isn't that worse either. >> Stay informed about: Missing Book ?? |

I don't see it ever occuring as a major motion picture, but I think the
first Riftwar would make a fine Sci-Fi mini-series. >> Stay informed about: Missing Book ?? |

Just because Marvel have been licenced to do a comic adaption of Magician
(and possibly the other Midkemia novels), doesn't mean that they have
licenced the rights to adapting the works into another medium, ie TV or
Cinema.
