What a wonderful evening we had together!!! Gayle and Bobby picked us up at
our hotel (they found us, but we couldn't even find our hotel with a GPS
system) and then drove down to Gulf Shores for what we had planned as dinner
at The Original Oyster House...found out that the wait time was 1 hour and
40 minutes at 5:45pm....don't "THINK" so....Bobby was gracious enough to ask
if we wanted to wait...Ray's eyes glazed over as he won't wait 10 minutes
for ANYTHING, Gayle wasn't going to eat oysters anyway and the "cooling
spray" was turning my hair into glue!!!...so it was any easy consensus that
we move along to oysters elsewhere. Luckily Gayle and Bobby had a backup
planned and the food was great....the oysters on the menu were called "Bon
Secoeur" and I had never heard of such a thing....Bobby said it meant "good
hope"....they were very tasty. The next day I looked at a map of Alabama
and saw a bay and town called Bon Seceour...so I guess that's where they
were from...very fresh and very tasty...Bobby said they were about a minute
and a half over cooked...I ate all but two....gave one to Bobby and one to
Ray...these are deep fried cornmeal battered oysters...meanwhile Gayle is
being good and having grilled shrimp. We saw a very pretty sunset on our
way back to the hotel and Bobby and Gayle joined us for a drink on the
bayside of The Grand Hotel...turns out Gayle had been there before. She and
I tried a Raspberry Mojito...something new to us both...it was sort of like
a fruit salad in a glass....I had raspberry seeds in my teeth and mint
leaves coating them before Piper suggested I raise my straw a couple of
inches above all the fodder in the bottom of the glass....wise woman, our
Piper. Ray stuck with red wine and Bobby with black coffee. I must tell
you it's been many years since I have seen a young waitress flirt SO
MUCH....but if Bobby had been a single man he wouold have been a goner!!!
We had the most wonderful time and this night was the highlight out our
trip.

Nice to hear.
Those Gulf Coast sunsets are great looking west. I imagine the view from
Gulf Shores is fairly unobstructed. I remember people looking for the
green flash from further east in FLA.

ROFL! You along with about 50 other women, including me.
....so it was any easy consensus that

A hole in the wall little place called King Nepture's (Cheezy name) but the
food really was good and the service was great.
>the oysters on the menu were called "Bon Secoeur" and I had never heard of

They were probably just plain fried oysters that they had to give a name.
I noticed there are a lot of places down there that have adopted that name.
Even an apartment complex, so, it must be a popular place or just a popular
name to use.

Only because I don't like oysters. Well, that's a strong statement
but I'll have something else if I have a choice.

Me of short memory, but it was probably 20 years ago. I'm lucky to remember
what I had for breakfast yesterday.

I giggle every time I think about you with raspberry seeds in your teeth.
We'll have to remember that drink and NEVER have it again!

LOL! Funny, I didn't think she was flirting. I thought she just had lots
of personality and was probably like that with everyone. I guess that just
shows I'm secure in our relationship. At least she discovered Bobby's
driver's license was expired. He went straightaway, when we got home, and
got it renewed. Who knows how long he would have driven with it out of
date.

Us, too, and we're going to do it again soon. Something, anyway. Maybe not
just a meeting for supper. We hated to see the evening end.
