It may be that no one on this bulletin board has ever dealt with Rodale
Books. They are the publishers of Prevention, Runners Magazine, and Organic
Gardening among others.
Today I received a book from them that I didn't order, bought with my
credit card number. To my knowledge I had never purchased anything from
them before, although I do sometimes make purchases through Amazon and it
could be that my purchase was routed through Rodale Books. I am very
careful about using my credit card online, something I have done sparingly
in the past, and not at all for the last year.
So, has anyone dealt with them? Has there been anything dishonest in that
relationship? Have you heard anything either good or bad about them?
It's seems incredible to me that they would be at fault, but I did receive
a book I didn't order, and I have no idea why that happened. This was the
only unauthorized charge on my credit statement. It seems only reasonable
that if somebody stole my number that they would have used it for thousands
of dollars of purchases for themselves rather than to send one book to me
that I didn't order.
Something sure stinks about all of this, but I don't have any idea who to
point a finger at. I'm single, no kids, no wife - so wife and kids couldn't
have done it. I don't know. It's a mystery.
