At the tail end of the X-Treme X-Men title, Rogue received an
elaborate sleeve of tattoos from a mutant called Paint. The moment
that happened, I thought to myself that it would be a nightmare for
other artists to keep track of that physical characteristic and that
either artists would keep her in outfits where she with fully covered
arms or inevitably, someone would forget to include the tattoo when
drawing Rogue.

I didn't keep close track to see if either happened.

Has there been any instance where the tattoos have been shown of
late? Decimation would have given a good opportunity to do away with
them. They could easily say the tattoo faded because Paint lost her
powers.

Weren't they supposed to be temporary from the start? Paint could
both create and remove them, and Rogue was just in an experimental
phase at the time. (Tattoos were only part of it.)

The ink was present for at least one subsequent storyline I believe so
it seemed to indicate that it was a less than fly by night addition to
Rogue's visual.
