Post subject: Somerset Maugham's short stories

wow, Maugham was some story teller! I just finished the first 3
stories, "Rain", "The fall of Edward Bernard" and "Honolulu"... I
can't wait to read the other stories... I paticularly have enjoyed the
suprise endings, even though I had a strong feeling there would be a
twist at the end on the last 2 stories I read... I already knew the
ending of "rain" from having seen the movie.(The Joan Crawford
version)

story generally known as "Appointment in Samara".

Fortunately Maugham was a prolific writer whose spare, unadorned style has
worn well. You have a lot of enjoyment ahead of you.
