Post subject: Very Stupid Wolves In The Narnia Movie

Just after Edmund tells the White Witch that his siblings are at the
Beavers' house, the White Witch sends her wolves after them. The wolves
go howling off into the woods. Their howls give Peter, Susan, Lucy, and
the Beavers enough warning to escape. Mrs. Beaver even has time to pack
some snacks! Why didn't the White Witch or Maugrim (The wolf leader)
order the wolves to stay silent so that they could catch their prey by
surprise?

In the book, much more intelligently, they flee when they realise Edmund is
missing and deduce that he has betrayed them.

I'm asking about the wolves in the movie, not Peter et al in the book.
