Nothing when it doesn't interfere with what you need to do. But me? I say,
"Oh let me just check my email." "Oh wait, while I'm here, let me look up
something on IMDB. "Well, since I'm here, let me check Ask Auseillo" "|Hmm,
I wonder if anyone respond to my blog-comment on last night's lost", etc.
In the mean time my laundry builds, Things I CAN pick up around here, I
don't, etc.

When I tell people I'm a computer addict, they auto-assume I surf porn.
Truth is, I'm not even fond of the stuff.

I know! Time really flies when we are plugged in to our computers, it's
like being in another world.

There are actually still some people out there who think the Internet is
evil. The monster-in-law is one.

Kind of like one of my teachers in my Freshman year of college (1991),
"Don't get used to computers, they are just a passing fad." Smile Many,
usually, but not always, older Members of the greatest generation usually
hear the word "Internet" and automatically think of porn.

That's exactly the problem. I get sucked in and before I know it, hours
have passed

In the joint Bill Gates/Steve Jobs interview last year one or the other
mentioned that one of the growth areas had been seniors because of the
ease of communicating with email, VOIP and sharing pictures, etc.

Of course these are the ones that get it.

It happens to everyone. It's a rather relaxing way to pass the time, IMHO.

Trust me, with what I've been going through since October, the nightmares
are a welcome change of pace!

Not much, stuck at home on medical leave since December 19. Not
anticipating going back to work until March 24. I have had 2 eye surgeries
that started with a burst blood vessel inside the right eye which happened
in October, from there had eye surgery on Dec 21 then promptly 3 days later
had a partial retina detachment in the same eye. Back to surgery on January
23rd and now home recovering. So far so good. Going for a follow up on the
22nd to find out how much longer before I can see.

Other then that, not much new on the home front. Am here everyday reading
even though I don't participate.

Oh my goodness!!! I pray you'll be seeing soon. Are you having to keep it
patched? You hang in there.

Oh many many seniors love the internet. They keep up with friends, play
online bridge, kids, etc. But there are still some who disdain the net
