For those unable to be repaired, you CAN recycle them. Call your sanatation

There is a local program to teach people to solder that wants scrap
circuit board, and my county has at least two, free collection days for
scrap electronics. I missed the one on Saturday. I was too tired to
load the truck, and drive across most of the county.

No problem! Glue one of those solar battery chargers to his forehead,
and the light frm his monitor will keep it charged.

And Fred thinks Scott is hopeless? Now you know what they mean when
someone says, He's trying to get 'The Darwin Award'. The only that
surprises me is that more idiots don't kill themselves, with some stupid
stunt.

Maybe in your experience. I know a blind ham radio operator that
leaves about 30 miles from Scott, with the same sense of humor. In
fact, JAson, another friend of ours taught "Blind Mike" to open the
boxes, unpack all the parts, assemble a computer and install Windows XP
on it without help, just to prove that he wasn't as useless as a
computer store owner claimed. I taught him the basics about 15 years
ago, after a computer store really screwed up his computer. They drove
him to my used computer store where I did the repairs on a bench in the
corner of the display room. Both caught the bug about computer repair,
and over the next five years I got a lot of phone calls, till they could
do most things on their own. There have to be a lot of people out there
like Scott, if I have met more than a few.
