I didn't want to say anything, lest I jinx it, but the newest trial is
most of next week. My S-I-L/brothers attorney is already making motions
of claiming sick again <sigh>, but she didn't have a doctor's note this
time. And the judge was adamant the trial would start next Monday.

Michael, and a couple of others, since you've joined since this started,
here's a brief summary. Mom left a trust and specially built home for
my care, but my siblings (who are biologically my uncle) reared their
ugly true feelings for me, heads. One forged the other's name and took
less than 30 grand, giving the eldest a reason to come on the trust.
The remaining trustees sold the house, stocks took exorbitant "trustee
fees" 85 an hour avging 5 to 10 hours a day, put me in a condo that the
home inspection even said "this home is a danger to you and anyone who
visits you". After I finally found attorneys at Holland and Knight to
take me pro bono, they've done everything they can to delay the trial
and case. It's been 7½ years now

We've got Remembrance Day here on Tuesday (11th November) - 11 11 at 11am...
to remember that it's 90 years since WWI ended, the Great War...the war to
end all wars.

No public holiday for this one, which I believe is an absolute shame.

Still, at 11am I'll have one fella laying a wreath in the park...another for
each of the hospitals. Yesterday my son was part of the colour party at a
local RSL service for Remembrance Day - next year as a Leading Cadet he'll
get to do the lowering and raising of the flag. he can't WAIT!

LEST WE FORGET

regards

I agree. The Veteran's Day events run a full week around here. Subway
and another restaurant chain are offering a free meal, when you show a
valid Military or Veteran ID on the 11th, and Golden Corral will have
annual free meal for Veterans on the 17th, along with the DAV.

Kaye Stevens, who performed in USO shows with Bob Hope in Vietnam
will perform at the VFW Retirement Home in Ft. McCoy as a fund raiser to
help them with a new wing for women Veterans.

Mind you, every Tuesday anyone with a Gold Card (
http://www.dva.gov.au/factsheets/default.htm ) can see a movie for free and
on Sundays they can use public transport in Melbourne, Geelong and
Ballarat - so I believe by some email sent to us!
They only do ONE day things here - ANZAC Day is a public holiday - 25 April;
Battle of Long Tan - no public holiday; Battle of Coral and Balmoral - no
public holiday; Remembrance Day - no public holiday.

It's good it's becoming more common.

I watched a good program on ABC last night about Monash and how HE was the
reason Remembrance day and ANZAC day are celebrated the way they are even
now. Without him, they would have died out!

I never knew that!
