1) Rice never completely answered this question so it is sort of a murky
area. In The Vampire Lestat it is touched upon though. My thought on it
is no they can not. Not in the way of mortals at least, as you can
consider feeding sort of a physically intimate behavior to vampires.
2) I could be mistaken, but I believe Louis only cried real tears in the
movie IWTV, but not in the book, which could have simply been an
oversight. Then again Louis is the most "human" in an emotional sense.
This fact is brought up over and over again throughout the series. I
have read all the books and I can only recall blood tears from any
vampire. It has been a while since I've read the older ones though.
3) No they can not reproduce other than through feeding their blood to a
mortal. Even then I think the mortal can still die if they are too close
to death. Actual family trees and relationships are discussed on and off
again through the books.
I do highly recomend you read the whole series begining to end as many
questions arise both about the characters and species involved and about
your own self in some cases. Anne Rice mentioned in the opening to the
movie [IWTV] that while it is a story about vampires, it is also a story
about human emotions. By reading the stories in order many questions
arise, and are answered (or at least resolved), while some are left open
to make you think. It truly is one of the best fictional reads that
touches a chord in everyone who picks them up.
If you do read any books that come from the "New Tales of the Vampires"
series that you do so after completing the whole of the "Vampire
Chonicles". It can tell you things about the first series through the
interpretation of other characters and that can spoil the original
series for some people.
Sorry for the long post, I have a tendency to ramble.
