Sounds to me like something Bokonon would say, but it isn't. Also sounds

I would GUESS it might be in Fates Worse Than Death, (non-fiction) but
maybe someone else knows for sure.

How about God Bless You Mr. Rosewater? That book is about the main
character helping people...

Thanks. I think I will get her a copy of that. I love all his books, hard
to choose. Rosewater had a pleasant, whimsical feel to it--if I remember
correctly.
