Thanks Kat for providing a way to give my kids a sneaky geography lesson.
Not only did they explore the ABML map and see where we all live in
respect to each other, but we made our own for family and friends showing
where they live.

Clever! Did you try matching up the holiday cards received with the spots
on the map that they came from?

No, we didn't do the ABML card exchange. I barely got family cards out in
time for Christmas. Between family and friends we already send out over 100
cards each year. I've been afraid to add to the list. Although my 8yr old
was able and willing to help out this year.

Great googly! That is a lot of cards. Even with the card exchange beefing
up my total, I don't send nearly that many cards. Wow.

My hubby is number 10 out of 12. Most of the older ones have grown kids.
And then there are my cousins that I keep in touch with or at least exchange
cards with. It seems to grow every year.

Um. Remembering assorted phone calls I've received from exultant new
parents -- ouch. Nevermind changing a truly appalling number of diapers...

On the upside, you must have incredible family reunions. :>

Try to avoid those. There is always someone fighting with someone else and
hubby and I are the ones they choose to middleman the fights, at least when
we lived nearby. Now that we are nearly 1000 miles away and only go back
about every 3 years, reunions are better.

We are about 2800 miles from my family's reunion site. Haven't attended
in six years, hope to heck to make it this year with the grandkids. It
can be torture, but most of them I do not even know (they are mostly my
Xth cousins Nth removed) and I get along with almost all of the ones I
do know.
