Last night, while Dad and I were having a bedtime snack, I noticed
_Crossroads_ sitting next to me. Remembering that Nightshade co-wrote a
story in there, I mentioned that I knew one of the authors to Dad. Then I
started to tell Dad about her. This led to Fluffy, since I know him better,
and he was mentioned in her description (tho not by any name).
"He's a green cat?" Dad asked slowly.
I assured him Fluffy does, indeed play a green cat. {pause} Dad has been
playing AD&D almost as long as I have, so he understood about playing a
character. However, he wasn't prepared for the character to be a green cat.
{Amused Laughter}
I did try to explain, honest. I told him about Fluffy angering the
goddess Jade, and her turning him hospital green. Then I told him that
Fluffy faded to Jade green after Jade left.
He seemed to still be working on the idea of choosing to play a green
cat. So I decided to quit before I confused him further, and changed the
subject. {SMILE}

After I posted, I realized that no, it isn't on-topic. For some strange
reason, that wasn't clear until I wrote it out. {Smile}

Flames and spam are the official off-topic posts of the group, and have
been since about 1995 (that is, they've been official since then).

True. And it is about us. And it did begin with a Valdemar book, even if
it did shift away in the very first sentence.... {chuckle, REALLY BIG GRIN}

You have a point. Either practically everything is off-topic, or nothing

Good point. Those aren't kosher here, and haven't been even longer than
it's been official. {Smile}
> I have a theory, it could be bunnies
Actually, there were a few kitties involved, but I didn't notice any
bunnies. There was Fluffy, of course, and Val HAD to get involved by
sitting on the book. Then I discovered that Nightshade's story centered on
a part-cat changechild... Few things make me sit up and take notice like
kitty cats do. {BIG SMILE, REALLY BIG GRIN}

Topic Drift within the original post means it is off topic and
therefore on topic. Understand?

Yes, actually I think do. {Smile} I've been around here long enough to
be very familiar with the mad galloping topic drift. I do understand, for
instance that if a post develops a thread even one reply long, the topic
will drift. {VERY AMUSED SMILE}
