Because it's how "wyrd" is spelt. Otherwise it'd look like "weird", which
has changed it's meaning since they were the same word, and cause
confusion.

I think it was a fair (and yet strangely restrained) comment, though. A
previous slightly-over-the-borderline 'troll-like' comment made from a
Hotmail account was followed by this other one 19 seconds later from a
/different/ Hotmail account but through the same news-server, same
time-zone, same posting agent, same origin IP address, even. And the
fact that both had the same style of writing[1] pales into
insignificance after that damning evidence.
I'm not sure whether that was fully appreciated by FP[2], but my initial
instincts were the same as his, and that became a more concrete opinion
once I bothered to delve into the situation...
I wouldn't have replied, probably, but don't hold it against FP for
doing so. And I now seem to have carved myself a nice new oar I might
as well stick it in as well...
[1] Though a one-liner is a limited dataset, and the second might not
have been considered truly inflammatory in isolation, but I'm assuming
FP saw them both before replying.
[2] BTW, may I echo Daibhid's earlier comment about being good to have
you back. It took the same reference for me to realise as well (despite
two previous hints, one very strong), and I now understand the poignancy
of that early message regarding reputations.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ --> >> Stay informed about: wyrd |

Ah, well, it's just a matter of time before I wear out my probably
already frayed and tatty welcome here. I do that so well.

You're always welcome here or anywhere else. As I told you when you first
reappeared, it's good to have you back. As to trolls - how else would one
respond to them?

It's good to be welcome in a Terry-group. Thanks!!
Since appearing during the latest Cale tour and on the Clapton DVD, my
celebrity credit here in T-town has risen to astronomic heights, but I
rarely say the f-word while playing piano. Having come to the conclusion
that afp had become infested with sad doofusses and wankers, I perhaps
used it a bit too often there.

It also has taken the obvious reference for me to realise who you are, but I
blame that more on me not really reading much here lately than me being a
total dufuss.
When I first started posting here [1] (under a different name too) it was
not only the first time on ABP, but my first time on USENET altogether I had
no idea that TMITH posted here, I didn't know what USENET etiquette was, and
after a rather nice bottle of wine one night I posted a lovely message
asking why a certain theme had not been used in one of his books, and asked
if it could be used in a future one.
You can imagine the joyous replies that I got after that, and continued to
get afterwards off certain people, no matter what I posted I could guarantee
that some people (and always the same people) would take the totally
opposite stance to me. It got so in the end I stopped posting. Then I
stopped lurking altogether,
The point I was trying to make was that you are always welcome, if you hold
different views than some of the people here, be assured that there are
enough different types of person in here that you will not be offending
everyone, I for one enjoy reading your posts, and hope to do so for a long
time yet.
